Rod Baker has been working with the Yolngu people of East Arnhem Land since 2004 when he arrived to work as a secondary teacher with an academic and industry background in Agricultural Science. Since that time, through close and rich intellectual relationships with senior Yolngu, he has built his understanding of how indigenous business can become successful and competitive in a contemporary context.

 

Rod also built and continues to develop Rakhi Retreat with his wife and business partner Bhavini. The property provides a place for people to stay and cultivate their connection and understanding of Northern Territory ecology.
